Sparks Group has partnered with a leading Aviation company who is seeking an experienced Senior HRIS Specialist to support and optimize their HR technology systems across North America. This role will serve as a key resource for Workday, HRIS processes, HR data, reporting, and system projects, partnering with HR, IT, leadership, and external vendors. The ideal candidate combines strong HR knowledge with technical HRIS experience and enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and helping users get the most from their HR technology. This is a contract opportunity with the potential to convert with the client.  This position requires you to be on site 4 days a week in VA with one remote day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Workday HCM and/or Dayforce, including HCM, compensation, benefits, payroll, time management, and absence management.
  • Administer, maintain, configure, test, and improve HRIS systems and processes.
  • Support Workday implementations, upgrades, releases, integrations, and enhancements.
  • Analyze business needs and translate them into effective HR technology solutions.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide support to HR teams and end users.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes through automation and technology.
  • Develop and maintain HR reports and analyze data for HR teams, managers, and leadership.
  • Maintain accurate employee, organizational, compensation, and HR data.
  • Conduct data audits and support HRIS compliance, security, and privacy requirements.
  • Partner with HR, IT, Compensation, Benefits, HR Business Partners, and other stakeholders on HR technology initiatives.
  • Manage and support HRIS projects, including timelines, testing, implementation, and post-go-live support.
  • Work with HR technology vendors and service providers to resolve issues and improve system functionality.
  • Create and maintain documentation and provide training and guidance to HR users.
  • Support other HRIS and HR technology projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Computer Science, Human Resources, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience, with at least 10 years of HRIS/HCM experience.
  • Strong experience with Workday HCM and/or Dayforce.
  • Experience supporting multiple HR functions, including:
    • Payroll
    • Compensation
    • Benefits
    • Time Management
    • Absence Management
    • HR Master Data
  • Experience with HRIS implementations, upgrades, testing, integrations, and system enhancements.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and HR technology.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong customer-service mindset and ability to work with employees and leaders at all levels.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Experience with ServiceNow.
  • Experience with HR data governance and reporting.
  • Experience working with HR technology vendors.
  • Experience supporting large, multi-location or global organizations.
  • Required: Workday and/or Dayforce
  • Preferred: ServiceNow, Google Workspace, project management and HR reporting tools
